Here is the wider view of what the art piece from two posts ago represents. ⠀ It's the "castell" (catalan word for castle), the human towers formed at festival in the Catalonia and Valencia Community. ⠀ ⠀ These castells, created by "colles castelleres", the groups of teams collaborating in a big synergy, are designated by UNESCO to be among the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. The tradition dates back three centuries. Particularly with the women getting involved in the 1980s, it's possible to see 9 or even 10-storey castells. The tallest towers ever created are "4 de 10" (10 sto with 4 people on each).⠀ ⠀ You can notice that when not competing against each other, members of other colles help the pinya, the supportive base of the performing colla to ensure there is enough strength and to serve as a safety 'net' if the castell collapses.⠀ ⠀ The motto of the castellers is "Força, equilibri, valor i seny" (Strength, balance, courage and common sense).⠀ As someone who has some fear of height, I really applaud particularly those young kids at the top for their courage!⠀ ⠀ #castell #castellers #Catalonia #Girona #humantowers #festival #tradition #people #Spain #nomadinca via Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/BnZI-c8jTvX/

I called my last post 'Chicken Wire" because I just appreciated that an artist took the texture of a chicken wire and created an art piece in a creative scale. I later found out what this art piece represented. Here is a hint, before I share exactly what it is. ⠀ #Spain #Girona #People #Festival #collaboration #nomadinca via Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/BnWOfcvD0_J/
