La Pedrera (the quarry) or Casa Milà of Antoni Gaudí. Devoid of sharp corners and straight walls on its façade (and mostly in the interiors), it's a soothing naturalistic modernist design that makes me dream of a home with such curves. Gaudí, a devoted Catholic, actually considered abandoning this project when he was forced to exclude the religious statuary of Mary and two archangels, but was convinced by a priest to complete it. Altough today a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the main attractions in Barcelona, Casa Milà was actually a reason for neighbors to stop talking to Milà, the owner, because they believed the weird building would lower estate prices in the area :) If you squint hard enough, you can see the galactic army's clone soldiers on the roof, camouflaged as ventilation towers. #casamila #casamilà #barcelona #architecture #architecturephotography #landmark #spain #gaudi #antonigaudi #LaPedrara #modernism
